Four Teams go 3-0 to complete series sweeps in season's 1st week

After the first series of the 2011 season, the fans of four teams got their brooms out to celebrate their completed series sweeps.

The AL East saw a surprising series sweep by the powerhouse Rays over the reconstituted Red Sox who have created a panic in Beantown by being swept by the Indians in the Sox second series of the season. Opening 0-6 is wicked.

Also in the AL East, the new juggernaut of baseball, the Orioles swept the Rays.  Manager Buck Showalter has worked his magic turning the perennial floor mat O's into a team with the best or nearly best record in baseball since he took over mid-season last year.created.

What can you say about the Rays.  Fans deserve better than a wholesale sell off of your talented players.  They are in for a long season as Angels came into town and swept a short two game series as well.

In the NL, teams held true to form. Power house teams, Phillies and Reds swept Astros and Brewers 3-0 respectively.
