AL/NL Division Leaders Get Swept

The Rangers completed a three game sweep of the Angels and the Nationals swept the Mets. The Angels are coasting to the playoffs. The Mets with a one game lead are looking over their shoulders at the hard charging Phillies.

The Angels lead the American League and MLB with 12 series sweeps throughout the 2007 season. The Rangers avenged a 2007 season opening series sweep by the Angels.

The Nationals re-established their bragging rights over the Mets who had swept the Nationals on August 19, 2007.

Sweeps affect Wild Card Races

The Yankees sweep the Orioles 3-0 to bring them within one game of the Red Sox in the loss column. The Tigers get swept by Indians to go further behind in AL wild card race.

Padres win in dramatic fashion with walk-off homer over Pirates to sweep series 3-0. SD leads NL wild card. Rockies are up three in a four game series with the Dodgers. Colorado needs a 4-0 sweep to keep pace with San Diego.

Phil's sweep Mets for 3rd time; SD over SF

Well its Monday morning, The Phillies have the Mets number. Winning three at Shea giving them another sweep. That's the third Phillies over Mets sweep in 2007 for a total of 10 wins with no losses.

On the other hand, the Rangers avoided a sweep when Michael Young hit a grand slam in the 8th.

And the Padres swept the Giants again for their second sweep over the Giants in 2007. Jake Peavy looks like a shoo-in for the NL's Cy Young award.

Can Phillies sweep Mets 4-0 again? Can A's return sweep favor vs Rangers?

Two chances for sweep activity today, September 16, 2007. Phillies and Mets. Athletics and Rangers.

On August 30, 2007, the Phillies beat the Mets 11-10. Chase Utley's walk-0ff single capped a ninth inning rally to complete the 4-0 sweep of the Mets. Phillies have won two Given all the trash talk, if the Phillies win today they will own the bragging rights in the NL East.

Rangers swept three game series in Texas against the A's on September 9, 2007. Three solo homers clinched the sweep. The Athletics are on the verge of sweep revenge with three wins in Oakland with the fourth game today.

Sweep Revenge - Reds over Cardinals

Reds' fans taste that sweeeet feeling --revenge. On September 2, Cardinals swept the Reds in a three game series at the Bud Box. Yesterday the Reds returned the favor completing a three game sweep. The Cards are in a funk- seven road losses in a row.- worst in 35 years. Maybe it's Miller Time?

Yankees sweep Royals!

Yanks on a role to post season participation. ARod got hot at the right time. Good pitching and timely hitting is tough to beat. Boston is tough, too. It will be interesting in about 10 days to see whether the Bombers have any chance to win the pennant or whether they do a back door into the playoffs with the AL wildcard.
